I first reviewed this restaurant based on their breakfast tacos, which were awesome. It then only made sense I would come back for lunch.
My husband and I were out doing errands, and both had a craving for tacos. I decided that we should revisit Chilosos. I am very happy we did.
We ordered at the counter, and had just barely gotten seated when chips and salsa appeared. Chilosos serves warm red salsa which is my absolute favorite. Our entrees were not far behind. My husband ordered the beef fajita taco plate. My dear spouse is a huge Torchey’s Taco fan. You can only imagine my surprise when he volunteered “These are better then Torchy’s.”I almost fell out of my chair!
I chose the carne guisada plate. Carne guisada is beef tips served with gravy. Kind of a Mexican style stew. First off ,this dish is not common for the Mexican restaurants I have tried in this area. I was very pleased to have this as a selection. I was also very pleased by the final product. The beef tips were tender, the gravy hearty with a hint of spice. Oh, don’t forget the homemade tortillas. I was in foodie heaven.
If you have not given this restaurant a try. It is family owned and you can tell by the integrity of their food.
