Ambriza

I always hate to pan a new restaurant flat out, but this was the worst $20 lunch I have ever eaten.

My regular lunch mate and myself decided to try this new addition to the Towne Lake restaurant selection. My faithful table mate had tried Ambriza at another location, and was dubious at best about having a successful meal.

We were excited to start our Labor Day and both decided to order a virgin margaritas.. Ambriza has many unique flavors. My friend opted for the strawberry cucumber, just perfect for a hot summer day. She was pleased. It was refreshing and tasty. I however, chose the hibiscus flavor. I love hibiscus tea, perfect again for a hot summer day. The product I received was tasty, but way too heavy infused with simple syrup. The beverage could definitely been improved by a dash of club soda. For myself strike one.

Next we made our lunch selections. My table mate decided on the Rajas Poblanos salad bowl. I was excited to find on their regular menu tacos al pastor. This by far is my favorite taco selection. After a very long wait our entrees arrived. My table mate was served a salad that was totally filled with rice and beans with a fine topping of lettuce. I was served two tacos with seriously a teaspoon of meat. The rest was cilantro. No double corn tortillas, no pickled onions. The tacos at El Ray Taqueria inside the loop blows these terrible tacos away Strike two.

We both asked for our checks. I was charged $20.25 for this abomination of a meal. The third strike was my check arrived with no detail receipt. Who does that? I will not patronize this restaurant again. I suggest if you do not want to be ripped off, you will not either.
