Is there a favorite little out of the way vacation spot that you love to visit at least once or twice of year? Well, for my husband and myself it is Little Rock, Arkansas. The place that we will not skip to stop and eat is Back Porch Grill.
Back Porch Grill is one of those tucked away perfect steakhouse’s that is tucked away in the basement of a resort hotel. It has a perfect view of Lake Hamilton. The other way that they are very unique is the 8′ x 8′ flat charcoal and wood grill that the majority of the menu is cooked upon. Talk about ambience, the monstrous grill is well as the lake setting is absolutely stunning.
Upon past experience I have always ordered the 6 ounce filet. For myself, this cut is melt in your mouth perfection. The cut of beef is small but incredibly satisfying and seasoned to perfection. But, on this particular visit I chose the pound of snow crab legs. You know, mix it up a bit. The snow crab waas luscious. They had the perfect taste of the sea, with a sweetness that that is inherent in snow crab legs. Drawn butter honestly was not necessary.
I have mentioned in previous posts that my husband is somewhat of a meat and potato kind of guy. His staple is the 12 ounce rib eye. On every visit we both have been incredibly impressed by the continuity of perfection of every one of our entree selections.
If I could cite one very minor flaw in our meals would be the side dishes. The salad is a very basic iceberg lettuce with the regular additions of tomato, croutons, and shredded cheese. The baked potatoes are on the small size, but like the salad are served with the staples of butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, and chives. They are adequate especially since you are anticipating the awesome entree that you are about to be served.
In conclusion, if you ever find yourselves in the quaint town of Hot Springs, Arkansas ( fun fact this city was the favorite vacation spot of Al Capone) I highly recommend you stop by and enjoy an amazing experience.
