So like most people I associated ramen with the prepackaged stuff that you added hot water to and was a salt bomb. Similar to the Lipton cup of soup from my youth. JINYA Ramen Bar is not in any way similar.
I was very fortunate to have several table mates on this food journey. The benefit of having multiple foodies in attendance is everyone tries different items. My husband and I started with pork gyoza. These were pillows of delicious pork filling the outside wrapper was perfectly soft and crispy. I could have made a meal out of those alone. One of our foodie couple ordered the caramelized cauliflower. They could not have been happier with this dish.
So we all proceeded to order our main course. My hubby and myself went with the old school chicken ramen. Our foodie table mates were more adventurous ordering the Tangy Shrimp Cilantro, the Wonton Chicken Ramen. and the Green Monster. My hubby and I totally loved our choice. The broth was layered in flavor, the chicken tender, and noodles properly cooked. My other foodie table mates were overall very happy with their selection. The only complaint was about the Tangy Shrimp Cilantro. My table mate who ordered this dish found it to be over all too spicy. She honestly had a hard time eating the dish and ordered a small dish of edamame to fill her hunger.
The atmosphere at JINYA Ramen Bar is very modern but not stiff. The wait staff was spot on, and our food came out very quickly. Overall if you are a ramen; fan I highly recommend this restaurant.
