During this Covid-19 crisis I have to tell you that Julias has worked hard to adhere to the many restrictions regarding restaurants while maintaining excellent customer service. My husband was craving Tex-Mex. He called Julias the Tuesday before dining rooms were able to re-open at 25% capacity. They were closing early at that time at 7.p.m . My husband called for take out a few minutes past their closing time. The owner knowing us, was more then generous. He not only filled our order, but sent two free tres leches cake as a gift. The food was spectacular. We were so happy that the Friday they were able to open the dining room we made reservations and went back again. The service and food were as always awesome, and the sanitation impeccable. If you have night tried this restaurant I urge you to try and give your patronage.
Living in the Houston and surrounding areas I have had my fair share of Mexican cuisine. Mexican food in Texas is like Parisian food in France. There many restaurants, but however not many are stand outs.
My husband and I were scheduled to have dinner one evening with my older brother and my sister – in – law. Due to a family emergency involving a family pet, he was forced to cancel. The place we usually meet, is at Rudy’s Grill and Cantina. (See previous review)
I had heard a lot of buzz about Julias Mexican Restaurant. My husband and myself had been craving Mexican food all day, which led us to the decision to give this restaurant a shot.
We were seated promptly, and our server (the owner) was quick to obtain our drink orders; as well as providing us chips and salsa. My husband is not a fan of red salsa.(What????) I however, love red salsa, Especially, when it is served warm. Julias salsa was a perfect storm of spicy, juicy, and balanced acid. Our table was then was brought the small queso and guacamole. The queso was a perfect luscious balance of creamy viscosity, with a kick of heat. My husband’s guacamole had the perfect portion of avocado, lime, garlic, and sea salt. The hub’s cleaned that bowl of guacamole beyond the speed of light! I seriously got one chip a top of that awesome guacamole.
Right on time behind our appetizers we were served our chosen entree’s .
I ordered the enchilada verde, my husband the beef fajitas for one. My enchiladas were perfect. Each bite was a combination of tart, spicy, creamy, well seasoned, delectable enchilada heaven. My husband’s fajitas were quite remarkable. Not only were they fairly priced, but the portion was very generous. The flavor of the beef fajita marinade gave the beef an outstanding flavor. Needless to say husband cleaned his plate quite satisfied. On the house from the Owner, we were also given complimentary flan dessert. It was creamy and delectable.
If you have not tried this establishment I urge you to give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
