I am not a huge sushi eater, and regrettably clumsy with chopsticks. I do however love sushi done right. Yokohamaya is a fairly new addition to the Cypress area. My husband and I had to venture out to the outlet mall, and afterwards were pretty hangry (hungry + angry). I had noticed via our local Impact newsletter that a new Japanese restaurant recently opened. So of course, I wanted to give
it a try!
We arrived on the later side of lunch, but surprisingly there were plenty of patrons. My hubby and I already had a good idea of what we wanted to try since I had already previewed the menu We decided to try the pan fried Gyoza. They had the perfect amount of spices, and sauce which came with the Gyoza was a perfect compliment. We then ordered our rolls. I chose a Shaggy Dog and my hubs ordered a simple California Roll. We were amazed at the size of these rolls. The pieces were so large it was a two bite situation. Thank God I am married becauseI would have scared off any suiter with the mess I made trying to get those delicious pieces into my mouth.Yokohamya has an expansive menu. They not only have sushi and sashimi but a massive appetizer menu.
They have both Udon and Ramen selections as well as Bento Box choices. They have a very reasonable lunch special menu, and even the dinner selection of special rolls range between $11.25 to $13.95. Overall, a great value. I urge you to give this place a roll.
